Work Injuries

What is Workers’ Compensation?

Workers’ Compensation is a form of accident insurance that provides medical care for employees who are injured on the job. Some of the most common work injuries, like sprains, fractures, crush injuries, or tendon tears, affect the foot or ankle. When that happens, it’s important to seek treatment from a physician who specializes in podiatry, so that you can get back to work as soon as possible.

Using Workers’ Compensation

Georgia workers are covered by workers’ compensation starting on the first day on their job. You should report any on-the-job injury to your employer within 30 days to receive benefits, and should seek care from an authorized workers’ compensation provider, like Foot & Ankle Center. You can learn more about submitting a workers’ compensation claim on the Georgia State Board of Workers’ Compensation website. Here are some of the conditions that we treat under workers’ compensation:

  • Fractures below the knee
  • Ankle sprains
  • Ankle strains
  • Crush injuries to the foot
